A sweaty little boy and a big belly

I know that someday I would love to have a girl, but honestly right now all I have to say is that I LOVE BOYS!!! I mean seriously, look at this kids face! He is so full of joy and ALL boy!
Once upon a time I read a blog written by an amazing mother (cough cough...Amy) about how she loved going in to her boys' room at night and kissing their sweaty little heads. To be completely honest it grossed me out at the time. I can now say that I know exactly what she meant. I love my sweaty little boy and cannot wait until there are two of them running around here! Well, two little ones and one big one! haha (A very common occurrence in this household these days is e chasing David around the table and around and around they go! E never wants to catch David, but daddy sure isn't allowed to stop!)

On Tuesday I will be 36 weeks, but to play catch up the first set of pictures are from my 34th week (as you can see we were both a sweaty mess from our walk but having oh so much fun!) and the second set from today (35th week). We are getting so excited over here! I am not expecting little man to come early, but just in case we are getting everything ready. Well, more like I am continuing to nest and David is being a good sport and humoring me. Love you, babe!

Bring on the nesting!

I have been told that at one point or other in some way shape or form most pregnant women start to nest. Well, there is definitely a form of nesting going on in this home! Our little family is going to be moving in the near future, so the nesting has taken on a slightly different form than the typical "put the nursery together." My nesting is more like go through every single drawer, closet, tote, bin, nook and cranny and PURGE! I love this!!! My sister will attest that one of my favorite things to say is "CHUCK IT!" Poor thing! Having to put up with her big sister "help" clean her room for all those years. (More like go through the trauma of having to defend all of her stuff because I wanted to "CHUCK IT!" haha!) For those of you who have been to our house in the last weeks, I apologize for the mess and how I have been trying to pawn everything we owe off on you! I also have to give a shout out to my husband for putting up with the cleaning craze!
I know that I have 7 weeks until my due date and am not planning on this little man coming early (only God knows when his Birthday will be)...however, I find myself wanting to have everything done so I can just be. I know, a lot of you moms are shaking your head at me and wishing me luck...but, my favorite time of year is summer, I love being pregnant, and I want to soak up every minute. As I mentioned above, we are going to be moving soon (to where...we have no clue right now, when...before December) and it is just a reminder to me to make the most of every opportunity, to be thankful for what I have right now, and to live in the moment.
Now that I am mostly done with the cleaning and sorting, have caught up on my editing, almost finished my crochet projects for my clients, I can finally think about what I am going to do for this little one. It doesn't have to be big, but seriously, I have to do at least one thing! Alright, that is enough of "the crazy pregnant brain of Kristi Bundy" for one night. On to the pictures.
The first series is week 31 (e and I were having a little too much fun trying not to get wet by the fountain).  We have a gap for week 32 because we actually got professional pics taken by the amazing Valerie Lynn Photography!!!! So excited to see them! Which brings us to week 33. Ahhhh! So weird getting to tell people that I am due next month! We went out for a walk today and had to stop and play soccer and of course take pictures. E loves soccer, especially since he got to watch his daddy and Auntie Sarah play the other week. Every ball in the house is now a soccer ball. Love that kid!

The Beautiful Voeller Family

A couple weeks ago Lael asked me if I would be able to take maternity/family/18 month pictures of their adorable son Jordan pictures. The answer...OF COURSE! Getting to take pictures for this family got me to thinking back to the first time I picked up a camera and took pictures for someone else...guess what...it was 18 months ago when I took a couple newborn pictures of Jordan!

I just love this family! When you spend any amount of time with them you can just tell how much they love each other and enjoy each others company. Being a military family they know how to make the most of every moment together and it shows! As you will see from the pictures below, Lael is gorgeous! So much fun to take pictures of her and her adorable perfect baby bump. And, the fact that Alex was home and got to be in the pictures, too, was a huge bonus. What made taking these photos even more exciting is that Lael and I are due within days of each other (note to all...don't drink the water if you live in Norfolk and don't want to be pregnant!). Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Our Birthday Boy!

We have a big boy in the house! Total toddler around here and we love it! I don't know if it is because of my obsession with taking pictures (especially when David was on deployment) or that we have really tried to enjoy each day, but I feel like these last 2 years have been the perfect amount of time. They haven't flown by and I am so thankful because I think I would have an emotional pregnant breakdown otherwise. We have loved watching e grow everyday and lately it seems like he is learning more than we can keep track of! I don't know how many times I have looked at David with an awestruck look from his increased vocabulary. There are just so many fun memories that he has created for us...so many...but here are just a couple:
- One of my favorites is when he fills in the words for "Jesus loves me" or the end of our Bible verse. And, for those of you who helped out with Camp Jr a couple weeks ago, one of his absolute favorites is yelling at the top of his lungs "STAND STRONG!!!"
- When he says, "Thanks, Mom!" and "I sorry!" (we are still working on what sorry actually means) my heart melts.
- We can't get enough of the cuddles we get when he is so tried that all he wants to do is tuck his arms in and melt into your chest
- He has the best "ROAR" you could ask for a 2 year old to give
- We are his number one favorites! Some how, even though he sees us every single day he can't get enough of us.
- I love listening to David and Eli go back and forth, "Daddy!" "Eli!" "Daddy!" "Eli!"
- He really does seem to have a new word or phrase every day. His most recent have been "tri-tops" (triceratops) and "you guys!"
- This kid seriously loves "TRUCKS!!!" and runs to the window to see every ambulance that goes by (and there are a lot where we live!)

Oh goodness...I could go on and on! Can you tell we love this little man? Because we sure do!!!
We are hoping to have a Birthday party for him later this month with some of his friends, but we did our best to celebrate his Birthday in a way that a 2 year old would enjoy, a day all about him! We started with painting! Then a trip to the Nauticus (a museum in downtown) where he enjoyed playing with every button and knob in sight and couldn't get enough of the fish (sorry for the cellphone pics!), ice cream (he wasn't so sure at first but quickly came around), presents, and a Birthday nap. E, we love you and are so proud of you!
Alright...I have to interrupt the pictures for a story...we took the ice cream home and were watching some cartoons as he was eating his ice cream (after he finally decided that he liked it). Apparently he got too big of a bite. One second he was happy watching TV and enjoying his tasty treat and the very next he threw his arms up, gripped his head with both hands, and a look at me with a look of horror that had instantly swept over his face. BRAIN FREEZE! Oh, my goodness...David and I about died laughing! It went away in a couple seconds like all brain freezes do, but poor little man had no idea what just hit him! Let's just say that when I tell him his bite of ice cream is too big he makes sure to take a smaller bite. haha! We are still laughing at the memory!

We got to keep celebrating by getting to see my little sister in DC this past week. She is part of the Litchfield Marching Band and their trip this year brought them out our way. How could we not go and see her when she was so close to us? I mean honestly, look at her! Love her to pieces!!! E was mesmerized by the "train" (metro), couldn't stop saying "Auntie Pork" and ate up the time we spent at the Natural History Museum (especially the insect exhibit...taking after his Buelo and Uncle Awesome). Our visit was short, but it was so great to see her! Love you, Kahla!!!!
