Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was David's Birthday! He had to work, but we tried to make it as special for him as we could once he got home. He is just such an amazing man. I am honored and blessed to be his wife, and Eli is one lucky boy for having such a wonderful daddy!

I saw an idea on pinterest where you put streamers across a doorway so that the Birthday person can run through them. I didn't have streamers, so I put Eli in his exercise/activity chair and I cute and taped together tissue paper.

A little blurry, but love his facial expression.

You can see the streamers in the background.

Waiting for Daddy to come home.

Coming home

I love that you can see him smiling through the streamers. Happy Birthday!

Humoring his wife and having fun. (Amy gave us a couple lessons on how to use our camera when we were up there for American Thanksgiving...as you can see my shutter speed wasn't fast enough for his thrashing arms and I think I am focused on the lamp instead of David...I have a lot to learn...)

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Craft Time

Getting to stay home with Eli has been an absolute blast. I couldn't ask for a better gift. During some of his nap times I have tried to tap into some creativity. It is still pretty minimal, but I am trying to expand it, slowly, but surely. I started out by crocheting blankets when we were in South Carolina. I needed a hobby...so I put the one stitch I knew to good use (haha) and made several many baby blankets for my girl friend's. I couldn't make one for everyone though as they took FOREVER to make. So...I have graduated to smaller projects...

Newsboy hats I made. The blue one is mine, the other is Eli's (yes, it is a little big for him...I was still trying to perfect the pattern).

Newborn newsboy hat I made for my friend. They don't know if they are having a boy or girl, so I made the red one (above) that could be for either a boy or a girl, and the purple one (below) in case they had a girl (side note: they had a girl and she is BEAUTIFUL!).

Love this pattern (and so proud of myself I actually figured the pattern out). You can't really see the texture in the picture that the hat has, but it is there.

Eli is such a good sport. Sometimes I think he might even like the hats I make him.

My latest thing is "pintrest." Thanks to Sara Lunde's amazing pin I was able to make my newest craft. I love it!

I think I did pretty good. On to the next one!

Can you believe these two?

This post is dedicated to my wonderful husband and amazing son. I cannot imagine my life without them. It is hard to remember life without David since we have been together so long, and Eli is the perfect addition to our family. They bring me so much joy and I love to just sit and watch the two of them play. There is no doubt David is Eli's daddy, just look at these pictures (Eli was sitting with David and looking at me every time David turned to talk to me. We decided to see if David could match Eli's facial expression...it worked!). The two of them crack me up!

Not sure face...
Wondering look
Getting excited

Eli just loves his Daddy (as you will see in the video...they feed off each other)! Sometime I will have to get on video David singing to Eli. No matter how fussy Eli gets (which honestly isn't too much and not very often) he always calms down when he hears David's voice (so sweet). I love my boys!
