Visit from Up North

My side of the family came down and stayed with us last weekend. We had a WONDERFUL time. Not only did they put up all the pictures and shelves on the walls (looks wonderful), but we had a ton of fun getting to see some of the attractions in South Carolina.

We headed up to Myrtle Beach where Ripley's Believe It Or Not has their aquarium. Talk about a fun place to go. Lots of exotic animals (don't know how any one thinks we come from evolution) and a moving sidewalk that takes you through the aquarium. All of us enjoyed our time, but one person in particular could not stop smiling...

Mikahla was eating up the moving sidewalk through the aquarium. I quote "They are so cute! I just want to pet them!" and "I just want to jump in and swim with them!" What was she pointing at and referring too...
These guys!!! We all think she is crazy, too!

Horseshoe crab anyone?

Love my baby brother

I so badly wanted to walk up behind them and push them in as they tried to touch the sting rays.
But, I was a good girl (maybe next time).
After the aquarium we took a little trip to the beach. We went to Myrtle Beach first, very busy, so found this beautiful quiet beach just south of Myrtle. Don't remember what it is called though. For those of you who haven't been to the beach with my family, this is the view you will generally see.

The back side. Seriously! Always looking for shells, crabs, sand dollars, ...something!

See what I mean! Needless to say, we always find treasures! Just like the good old days.

Hi, again!

The fam. Love you guys! Thank you for coming!!!

And, it wouldn't be a complete blog without a self taken pic of the siblings sporting their natural faces.

4th of July Fun

This past weekend was a blast. Full of BBQs with our church and friends. For the 4th of July we went down to Patriot's Point and watched the firework show. The fireworks were shot off from the Yorktown (a WWII aircraft carrier) and thanks to our wonderful friends who were sitting right in front of it, we had front row seats. My "wow" moment for this 4th of July was getting to listen to the National Anthem with a bunch of Navy guys that as soon as they heard the music playing turned and stood at attention even when they were not in uniform. I know there is a lot of bad in our world and in our country...but we still have a lot to be thankful for!

4th of July at fireworks show.

So yesterday we decided to let off some of our own "fireworks." David and I went out to an outdoor range with two of his friends from school, Josh and Jorge.

Talk about 3 boys in a candy store...I think the middle one is enjoying the moment the most.

See what I mean? He was eating it up!!!

(Yes, I have my own eyes and ears. And, yes, I did have fun.)

Especially the shot gun (only bird shot). But, I think my favorite was the AR-15. I didn't shot the M-9 because there wasn't very much ammo for it. You should see my time I go shooting and there are rifles, I need to make sure that I have a sleeve (I am waiting for the bruise to show up, already broke all the surface blood vessels).

It was a great day and my husband had a lot of fun.
